The Exile Character Editor is a stand-alone utility to improve your Exile party is various ways. The unregistered version can add gold and food and heal your party. The registered version can do much, much more.
Instructions for using the Editor are in Chapter 11 of the Exile docs file which came with Exile. The full Editor is $10 shareware, although you are welcome to use the free features as much as you want with my blessing.
